Founder Alejandro Lopez was born in Spain in 1866 and moved to America at the age of twenty. He worked in tobacco cultivation in Panama for a living and acquired knowledge. In 1910, he settled in the Dominican Republic and founded a cigar factory in the 1920s, which he managed until his death in 1948.
