Nils Bräutigam comes from Eichsfeld in Thuringia and has been a freelance artist in the field of painting and sculpture for many years and is mainly a tattoo artist. He made his first attempts at making pipes in 2017.

The workmanship, the design and the overall quality are convincing - within a short time his pipes also became internationally known.

There are two classes of pipes:

Barbarossa: Non filtered pipes that are made entirely freehand. Even the tobacco chamber is turned.

Rotbart: Always equipped with a filter. The lathe is also used for this.

The naming is due to both the local proximity to the Kyffhäuser and the red beard of Nils Bräutigam.

Both classes are identical in terms of wood and processing quality and are each produced by Nils Bräutigam himself. The biggest difference lies in the existing filter chamber in the Rotbart pipes
