In 1906, Zino Davidoff was born into a family of tobacconists. As a young boy, he learned how to mix pipe tobacco and cigarettes in his father Henri's "Davidoff of Geneva" tobacco shop in Geneva. On his journey through Central America and Cuba, he gained knowledge of cigar making, made his first contacts and helped with field work. He brought all these impressions and the knowledge he had gained into his parents' tobacco business. The introduction of the first air-conditioned humidor was a groundbreaking step in cigar storage and underlined Davidoff's pioneering spirit.
The Zino label was already on the market in 1980 and was relaunched in 2021.
