This does not burn, but the smoke only pulls through the fresh tobacco in the chamber and thus allows unique mixing effects.

Alternatively, dry stones can also be placed in the chamber. The Spider also has a screw cap decorated with a spider that can be screwed to the bottom or upside down. This can be used to fill a pipe in advance for on the go or to close a bowl that has not been smoked to the end.
