Pipe smoker of the year 2011 and especially known as a television cook:                                                                                                    Horst Lichter, *15th of January 1962 in Nettesheim. In collaboration with the Vauen comany, a Horst Lichter collection was created consisting, among other things, of pipes, tampers and tobaccos. The two tobaccos "Espresso" and "Red Wine" are exquisite. 

Roald Amundsen (1872 - 1928), Polar explorer from Norway. He was the first person to reach the geographical South Pole on December 14th, 1911. In 1926 he was also believed to be the first person to reach the geographic North Pole. He is the most important explorer in the Arctic/Antarctic area. 

Ernst August Lehmann, 12th of May 1886 in Ludwigshafen - 7th of May 1937 in Lakehurst. One of the most experienced German airship captains and victim of the Lakehurst airship disaster in 1937.

Albert Einstein, 14th of March in 1879 - 18th of April 1955 in Princeton, New Jersey. Theoretical physicist of extraordinary fame. His theory of relativity made him famous all over the world.

Günther Grass, 16th of 0ctober 1927 in Danzig - 13th of April in Lübeck. An important German writer, painter and sculptor.
