Following an old Cuban tradition, Villiger Original Krumme are hand-braided from three still-moist cigarillos. The resulting curved shape cools the airflow more effectively, allowing the aromas to develop more fully. This iconic design features a small mouthpiece and provides about half an hour of smoking pleasure. When cold, the scent of barnyard and hay lingers; after lighting, this scent accompanies the smoke for a few more puffs, followed by woody, strawy, and slightly sweet aromas.
Braiding used to serve as a theft deterrent in Cuban cigar factories. The still-damp cigars were braided into braids, and after drying, they retained their shape. This made it easy to see whether an employee was puffing from their free cigar ration. Workers generally couldn't afford to purchase cigars regularly.
The mouthpiece has a length of 5.8 cm, stop smoking beforehand.
